The members of Local 370 have suffered at the hands of the present administration and President William Weir

While they are quick to blame all others the fact is these things are their DIRECT RESPONSIBILITY.

Pension Fund

The Local 370 Pension Fund has been listed as Seriously Endangered by the actuary. He has reported to the treasury Department that the fund will be 65-80% for 2008. Which is it? At 80% do we have A PROBLEM?? No. He has reported that in 2013 the plan is projected to have a deficiency. What?? How much?? Is it 80% again. You are an actuary .You have the numbers. So IS the fund seriously endangered? Mr. Blaclock in recent statements on jobsites has stated that it is not and this letter is a mere formality. This letter is anything but a formality.

Due to this action by the actuary the members of local 370 are now FORCED to submit to an improvement plan concocted by the Empire Council which HAS TO include a drop in payment amount per credited year and an increase in the amount the members must contribute .Why. How did our plan get to this point if it is indeed seriously endangered? The 5500 financial statements do not reflect some catastrophic loss in investments. What has happened to our fund? In April 2007 the Empire Council in collusion with Kevin Hicks and William Weir merged the 1042/229 Pension Fund with local 370. This fund under the management of the Empire Council was driven down from $83 a credited year to $20 a credited year. This destroyed fund was then merged with ours and this damage to our Pension fund was predicted. No one listened. Are you listening now?

Members are directed to ask questions of the fund and get a copy of the improvement plan from the phony fund administrator/office manager Erin Ceccucci. She refuses to supply a copy of the plan or any details until November at the direction of non other than William Weir. That is the time the improvement plan is to be submitted to Treasury. The attorney for the Pension plan. Tocci and Parker say the plan is not formalized. The Investigator for the EBSA wants to ask why the letter says the plan is in place now. Why as seated Trustee and President of the Local does William Weir enable this deceit? Why has William Weir given control of our Pension and health Fund to the Empire Council? He has a choice.

1. Drop in Health care and increase in payments
2. A pension fund seriously endangered
3. A scheduled increase in hours to qualify for benefits from 400 to 700
4. Loss of the right to govern our Local as guaranteed in Section 25B of the UBC Constitution
5. Ex Local 229(now 370 members as of December 2003) members who now CANNOT GET ENOUGH HOURS FOR HEALTH AND PENSION BENEFITS
6. 48% 0f our Local cash receipts turned over as per capita tax
7. Our Local ruled by illegally imposed Empire Council Bylaws
8. Our Health and Pension Fund under audit and investigation by the EBSA for Title 1 Violations
9. Officers of Local 370 investigated by Labor Fraud and Racketeering

How did these things happen?

There was a choice

At anytime in this William Weir could have acted in the best interest of the Local as he was sworn to do. He has chosen NOT TO. He has chosen to give our Local over to the control of the Empire Council. HE HAD A CHOICE AND A DUTY. Now it is your duty. It is your duty to VOTE OUT the people responsible for what has happened to your local. If you do not than there is more to come. HOW MUCH LONGER WILL YOU ALLOW WILLIAM WEIR AND HIS SLATE TO DESTROY LOCAL 370 AND STEAL FROM THE POCKETS OF THE MEMBERS HE WAS SWORN TO SERVE?
