Richard Hotaling
June 4th, 2008 Another potential ” sleeping Giant “. A “ want to be ” union man who would like to do the right thing by the members and union. He has been held down by the Hicks and Weir debacle. Mr. Hotaling is an able instructor at the Local Union Training center. We believe his heart is in the right place and that he lives vicariously through strong union leaders. But he won’t break through to the other side for fear of economic insecurity. It is time for Mr. Hotaling to realize that his wallet is flush and that he has nothing to fear for speaking his true mind. He has worked hard over the years ( since the late ” 80’s when he got in ) to establish himself economically and intellectually. With strong UNION leadership at the top of the Local we feel that Brother Hotaling can be a viable asset in reclaiming our rights as a Local Union. He won’t do that with Weir as President . The membership will remain caught in a downward vortex. History will continue to repeat itself.
The nod goes to Hotaling with the caveat that Weir is gone..
